Controls
- iPhone and iPad
- Swipe to steer, tap to stop. Swipe again the way you are going to dash. Hold the screen to focus (slows enemies) once Focus has unlocked. A game controller works too: the stick or d-pad steers, A stops.
- Mac
- Arrow keys or WASD steer, space stops, shift focuses, return finishes a cleared level, esc pauses. Pressing the key of the direction you are already moving dashes.
- Apple TV
- On the Siri Remote the arrows (or swipes on the touch surface) steer, click stops, hold the click to focus, Play/Pause pauses, and Menu pauses or goes back. Game controllers work the same way.
- Android
- Swipe to steer, tap to stop; hold to focus. Phones play in portrait, tablets in landscape. A keyboard works while a level runs (arrows or WASD, space, shift, enter, esc), and the system back gesture pauses.
- Windows
- Keyboard: arrows or WASD steer (a second press the way you are going dashes), space stops, shift held focuses, enter finishes a cleared level, esc or P pauses. Mouse: drag on the field to steer, click to stop, hold still or hold the right button to focus. Game controller (Xbox and most others): the pad or left stick steers, A stops, a shoulder or trigger focuses, Y finishes, B or Start pauses. F11 or Alt+Enter switches full screen; F12 saves a screenshot to Pictures › Glowfield.
Together: two players on one screen
- How do two people play?
- The title's Together button picks a mode (Two Sparks, Claim War or the Hunt), who steers the second spark (a friend or the Bot) and a picture from the levels you have open. On a phone or tablet the left half of the screen is Player 1's and the right half Player 2's, one finger each. On a keyboard WASD, space and left shift are Player 1's; the arrows, right shift and right option (alt) Player 2's. One game controller is Player 2's; two controllers, one each. On Apple TV the Siri Remote is Player 1's and a controller Player 2's.
- Is Together in the free part?
- Yes, on the levels you have open: the Seedling world free, every world with the Full Game.
Purchases
- What is free?
- The whole Seedling world (levels 1-1 to 1-7) and the first three stages of Infinity. Nothing is timed and there are no ads.
- What does Full Game open?
- Tide, Ember, Aurora and Cosmos (24 more levels) and Infinity without end. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
- I bought it on my iPhone. Is it on my iPad, Mac and Apple TV too?
- Yes: one purchase covers every Apple device signed in with the same Apple Account, and it is shared with your Family Sharing group. Open Settings → Full game → Restore purchase on the other device if it does not show at once. The Android version is a separate purchase on Google Play.
- Restore does not find my purchase
- Make sure the device is signed in to the App Store or Google Play with the account that bought it, then try Restore again with a network connection. If it still fails, write to us with the store and the date of the purchase.
Settings
- The game stutters or the device runs warm
- Settings → Graphics chooses how many points of light are drawn: Ultra draws one for every pixel, High one for every 2 × 2 pixels, Medium 3 × 3, Low 4 × 4. Lower it one step at a time.
- Music, sound effects and haptics
- Each has its own switch in Settings → Sound. On Windows the haptics are a controller's rumble (Settings → Controller rumble).
- Can I start over?
- Progress lives only on the device, so deleting and reinstalling the app starts it over. Purchases are never lost; Restore purchase brings them back. On Windows the save is
%APPDATA%\Glowfield\save.json.
